Studio Plenty
Studio Plenty in a small practice based in Byron Bay; we opt for sensibility in design over all else. ‘Plenty’ is our opposing attitude to the common state that more means happiness. Our ideology is an antithesis to this mind set, simply put, ‘that’ll be plenty, cheers’.
Jury Citation
The jury unanimously agreed that Studio Plenty is the worthy recipient of this year’s Emerging Interior Design Practice award. Founded in 2020 by Will Rathgeber, the Byron Bay-based studio has achieved a level of refinement and execution with materiality and lighting in their design of Burly Bar, which was considered outstanding for a young practice. It is a nuanced, moody and enticing project that has real street appeal in terms of its approach to drawing people in and creating unique spaces for them. In this project, Studio Plenty reveals a careful exploration and design consistency. It demonstrates their understanding of a brand and brief and the delivery of beautiful lighting within a sophisticated material palette, which Studio Plenty does extremely well.
